Subsidies for barn improvements

Applications will open soon for a fund to subsidize farmers to improve barns and greenhouses to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

GreenON Agriculture Retrofit, which supports eligible upgrades to existing production facilities and systems, is the first initiative open to farm businesses under a federal-provincial funding program.

Those that meet the eligibility criteria can access 35 per cost-share to undertake eligible activities, up to a maximum of $500,000.

The Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association will be accepting applications from March 6 – March 26.
