More progress on TB front

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency continues to make progress on its massive investigation into tuberculosis in beef cattle in Alberta.

The number of premises released from quarantine has now jumped to 77 and the number of cattle remaining under quarantine has declined to 2,200.

Sixteen thousand cattle have now been released from quarantines that stretched across Southern Alberta and into Southwestern Saskatchewan.

The CFIA found six infected animals from one operation with 18 premises and slaughtered 11.500 head.

Canada has maintained export status throughout the crisis.
