The federal and Manitoba governments are giving Maple Leaf
Foods Inc. $500,000 towards construction of a $5.9-million bacon-processing
plant in Winnipeg.
When it is completed later this year, it will employ 34
workers.
It's sad that the now-profitable Maple Leaf Foods takes corporate welfare.
