CFIA oks dairy food-safety protocols




The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has granted its stamp of approval for the on-farm food safety and milk quality programs developed and implemented by dairy farmers.

The Dairy Farmers of Canada and provincial marketing boards developed and implemented a Canadian Quality Milk Program and it now has official approval under the CFIA’s Food Safety Recognition Program.

Chicken Farmers of Canada won similar recognition in 2013 and they are the only two commodities to gain this status.
