Remy Poultry pleads guilty

Remy Poultry Limited (Ontario Corporation #478769) of 2545 Barton Street E. in Hamilton has fined a total of $1,250 after pleading guilty to bagging meat in packaging that features an Ontario inspection logo.

The meat had not been inspected because the company has dropped out of provincial meat inspection.

It seems that the blokes at Remy have no respect for their clientele.

"Unauthorized use of a legend may lead customers to believe that a product was produced and inspected at a provincially licensed meat plant, which was not the case here," the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs says in a news release.
