Marijuana profits are huge

Tweed Marijuana Inc. of Smiths Falls made $1 million profit on sales of $1.7 million in the fiscal quarter that ended June 30.

Heck, that's even better than dairy and poultry farming by children who inherited the family quota.

The company, which merged with Bedrocan Cannabis Corp. on Aug. 28, claims to be the leading producer in Ontario.

It is selling marijuana for $7.25 per gram.

"We have established the clear market leader, and are driving the evolution of the cannabis sector in Canada," Tweed chairman and CEO Bruce Linton said Monday.

"The acquisition of Bedrocan is the first step, and we intend to continue to take the initiative, growing our portfolio of brands, expanding clinical research on cannabis, adding new products and services, and introducing additional innovations for patients and consumers."

In British Columbia, illegal marijuana production is so huge that it’s estimated to be the most valuable crop in the province.
