Mink vandals strike again

Mink-ranch vandals struck for the third time, releasing 300 in Wellington County.

The owners were busy on the long weekend trying to round up the released mink from the ranch on Jones Baseline in Guelph-Eramosa Township.

The township is east of Guelph; Rockwood hosts the municipal offices.

The Animal Liberation Front claimed responsibility for 1,600 mink released from a ranch near St. Mary’s in May. Many of the new-born kits died.

No organization has claimed responsibility for 6,800 mink released in July from a ranch near St. Mary’s.

The Canada Mink Breeders Association is offering a reward of $100,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the vandals.
