Transparency an April Fools joke

The Ontario government promised that today it would reveal expense claims by directors it has appointed to boards and commissions such as the Ontario Farm Products Marketing Commission, the OMAFRA appeal tribunal, Agricorp, the Normal Farm Practices Review Board, etc.

This is an example of what has, in fact, been posted on their websites today:

“To date, appointees and designated persons of the Rural Economic Development Advisory Panel (REDAP) have not incurred any travel, meal or hospitality expenses.”

The same wording appears on most of the websites for these OMAFRA agencies.

The Ontario Farm Products Marketing Commission is an exception. Its website reveals nothing under expenses, but provides an e-mail address to register inquiries.
