Ontario back in honey council

The Ontario Beekeepers Association has paid its dues and is back into membership in the Canadian Honey Council.

Officials say differences were resolved after several meetings, but declined to say what the issues were.

Ontario beekeepers pushed for a ban and advised members to join a lawsuit against neonicitinoids launched by a couple of outspoken beekeeper critics.

The honey council, meanwhile, focused its attention on a national roundtable where a call went out recently for more federal government research on issues such as verroa mites and antibiotics to protect the health of bees
