Dr. Conrad van Dijk in hospital

Dr. Conrad van Dijk is in hospital following a car crash on his way to Toronto to fly to Sierra Leone where he has established a mission project to develop a poultry industry which aims to lift African families out of poverty.

His wife, Anna, died in the crash.

Dr. van Dijk set up the first poultry-specialist veterinary practice in Ontario, if not Canada, from an office in Shakespeare.

He worked with Hope for Sierra Leone, a mission organized out of Meadowlands Christian Reformed Church in Ancaster.

He generated support from many in the Ontario poultry industry, including donations of hatchery and other equipment.

There will be many hundreds of people praying for his complete recovery.
