There are no non-GMO vitamins

Dr. Wayne Parrott of the University of Georgia says the makers of non-GMO breakfast cereals are short of vitamin supplements.

He says the only manufacturer or non-GMO vitamins closed recently, so neither Grape Nuts Flakes nor “original Cheerios” can be fortified, as they have been in the past, with vitamins.

Parrot says Post GrapeNuts Cereal has a whole host of missing nutrients and Cheerios is missing Vitamin-B 2.

The vast majority of vitamins and enzymes and other food additives are produced through genetic modifications using micro-organisms such as yeast, Parrot says. He is a crop scientist.
