Dole recalls Italian salad

Dole Fresh Vegetables Inc. is recalling Dole brand Italian Blend salad because of Listeria food-poisoning bacteria.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says consumers should not eat the salad, but their warning is probably too late because the salad carries a best before date of Mar. 12.

The salad was marketed in Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick and may have been also been distributed in other provinces, the CFIA says on its website.

The CFIA says it caught the contamination through its routine testing and also says the recall might be extended to more products as its investigation continues.
