The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Agropur are warning the public not to consume the Il Villaggio brand Gorgonzola Dolce Cheese because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
There
have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this
product.
There is no explanation about why a
co-operative owned by Canadian dairy farmers who are paranoid about protecting
their market from imports was itself importing this cheese.
